Glass: Tru Vue Museum Glass, Art Glass (>97% and 99% optical transmission respectively, 99% and >70% UV protection respectively, both have outstanding clarity (nearly invisible), both are anti-reflective (< 1%), and bring out stunning detail and color in the print (see example here)). Tru Vue glass is available for sizes 30″ or greater in width. Art Glass is used for all smaller frames.
Mat: Conservation mat core and backer paper used are made from 100% cotton and is naturally acid-free. The colored facing mat paper is acid-free, buffered and bleed resistant. The backer board has cotton paper surfaces and a polystyrene core for added rigidity and stability. The benefit of conservation rag (cotton) paper and core is that it’s all natural, environmentally friendly, easily renewable and conserves the quality of the art for decades. If acid is present in materials against the art, it will gradually discolor over time. Unless otherwise specified, mats are black. Customization is available.
